Nations urged to learn from work in Kubuqi to reclaim barren lands.
Kubuqi Desert in northern China's Inner Mongolia has transformed from a once solely desert area into an enviable paradise on earth.
In the past half century, a group of people, including Baoriledai, Yin Yuzhen, Wurigengdalai, and Wang Wenbiao, have made great contributions to Ordos' afforestation.
Ordos makes full use of sand-protecting barriers in preventing and controlling sandification and restoring vegetation. It began to plant salix and artemisia last century to reduce the sandstorm damage on oases, farmland and transportation at the edges of the desert.
